Promoting the responsible use of alcohol
Association for Alcohol Responsibility and Education’s (Aware.org) core mandate is to promote responsible drinking by adults who choose to consume alcohol and reduce its harmful use. We have a zero tolerance on underage drinking. Our philosophy is based on a “whole-of-society” approach to effect behavioural change and our programmes are informed by research and data. The key pillars of focus are: Underage Drinking, Road Safety and Sober Pregnancies.

Partnering with the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research, we're committed to reducing birth defects caused by alcohol during pregnancy. South Africa faces the highest reported rate of FASD globally, a pressing public health concern.
